One of the greatest pleasures of the last two years has been getting to know Lucé Tomlin-Brenner, the charming and talented host of the It’s Always Halloween podcast—we met when a friend gifted her some of my zines, and we quickly realized how much we have in common. While our relationship was built on planning sessions for projects to work on together, I’ve just been tickled by the amount of free-flowing conversations we’ve had over the past two years, and I’m really happy we’ve gotten to know each other. She’s such a wonderful person!

Well, one of those projects is finally coming to life. Introducing The Lantern’s Way: A Zine of Halloween Memories, Costumes, Recipes, History, and More from the It’s Always Halloween Podcast! A zine so chunky you could correctly call it a seasonal magazine, The Lantern’s Way is filled with cherished memories of Halloween costumes from members of the IAH Lantern community, tried-and-tested Halloweeny recipes from Lucé’s Kitchen Witch recipe series and sent in from listeners, reflections on the series from Lucé herself, cover art from sPoOokY artist defectivepudding, illustrations throughout from IAH grimtern Nathan Cunliffe, an introduction to the coziest season of them all from Katie Haegele, author of The Kitchen Witch: Natural Remedies and Crafts for Home, and layout, design, printing, and maybe an old costume picture or two from yours truly.

Printed in full color and featuring a heavy cardstock cover, The Lantern’s Way is a hefty 60ish page zine that’ll tug at your heartstrings, make you giggle with joy and seasonal camaraderie, and inspire you to up your Halloween game for years to come. This is not a zine to be missed if you’re a Halloweenhead!!
